baseball memorabilia
Ever since I was a child, my father has always had a strong passion for baseball memorabilia. I still have distinct memories of him taking us with him to those classic games when we were kids, and seeing the baseball players with their slick new uniforms.
After one of the games back in the day, my father took us down to the field where my idol, Travis Lee, was walking off the field. My father shouted his name: "TRAVIS! OVER HERE!", and to my surprise, he saw us and started walking toward us. I figured he was just going to walk in front of us and wave, but he kept getting closer. I was so excited! Finally, he came right up to us and said hello. We talked to him for a few minutes about the game, and how much I admired his playing. As he was leaving, he looked right at me and said: "Hey kid, do you want me to sign your ball?" I handed over my ball and he scribbled down his autograph. Then he walked away, leaving my first baseball memorabilia in my hand. I still keep that ball in my baseball memorabilia collection.
